Set within the beautiful Kildare countryside by the River Liffey the country house was restored and opened as a luxurious and elegant hotel and country club that offers the perfect environment to entertain your clients.
The K Club hosted the 2006 Ryder Cup where Europe where famously victorious against the USA. On top of the wonderful golf facilities, the K Club has to offer fly fishing, course fishing, clay pigeon shooting, horse riding and of course the sublime relaxing experience of the spa.
With two of the finest courses at The K Club, along with a wonderful range of past time activities to enjoy, this resort is one of the finest in Ireland.
Famous designed by Arnold Palmer himself, the North Course is affectionately known as the “Palmer Course”, and it lives up to its famous namesake. The Liffey runs through this 550-acre golfing wonderland, providing some of the most beautiful scenery in Irish golf. But the Palmer isn’t just a showpiece – it’s also famously challenging, featuring some brutally difficult holes and rough, uncompromising terrain. A fitting host to the famous European victory over the USA in the 36th Ryder Cup, this course has seen some historical golfing moments.
Named after the man responsible for the K Club, Dr. Michael Smurfit, the Smurfit Course is a stunning companion to the Palmer. Famous for its 7th hole, known as the “Swallow’s Quarry” and featuring a water feature that runs the entirety of the hole, this isn’t by any means an ‘easier’ version of the Palmer. On the contrary, the Smurfit has its moments of fiendish difficulty, and the abundance of water throughout the course makes the round after interesting round.
30 minutes from Dublin, the Kildare Hotel is an extravagant renovated 19th century country mansion. Although modern touches have been added to better provide luxury accommodation for guests, the Kildare retains its classic splendour, with much of its original decoration, artwork and antiques still remaining. This is an incredibly warm, welcoming and stately hotel which boasts a full-equipped spa and award-winning fine-dining, as well as a J. B. Yeats room which hosts some of his most spellbinding paintings. If you like the finer things in life, you’d be hard-pressed to find better golfing accommodation, with a wide range of rooms ranging from the Deluxe and Superior to Presidential and Imperial suites.
